Why should you re-grip your clubs
Both spikes and grip are some of the most important components in golf, yet they are often taken for granted or overlooked. In the case of club grips, they are the only part of the club with which golfers come into contact.
Grips are made of materials that age with use. Heat, dirt and sweat from the golfers’ hands all contribute to the age process making them more difficult to hold onto. To counteract this, golfers tend to grip the club harder causing tension in the shoulders, arms and wrists, which effects the swing, leading to a loss of both accuracy and distance.
On the other hand fresh grip enable the golfer to hold the club lightly without the subconscious fear of losing the club during your swing. This promotes a good swing and wrist action.
Re-gripping should be considered by frequent golfers after every 40 to 50 rounds, whilst infrequent players should re-grip their golf clubs annually. We recommend it is done at the start of each new season.
